RemArms, previously known as Remington Arms, will close its gun factory in New York next year, per the Observer-Dispatch of Utica.
The decision comes as the gun manufacturer, considered the oldest gun maker in the U.S., has twice filed for bankruptcy since 2018 and has been subject to layoffs and temporary closures in recent years.
In a letter sent to union officials this past week, the company said operations will conclude “on or about March 4, 2024” in its Illion, N.Y., facility, per the Observer-Dispatch.
